This is a full-time Research Assistant 1 position that is designated as the Assistant Production Lab Manager. The individual will be responsible for monitoring the health of animals and maintaining the systems that contain them. Good management skills are preferred because we have an undergraduate intern training program. These responsibilities include managing the productivity of the interns (cross-training is a must), keeping track of hours worked and reporting those hours, producing the weekly schedule, and training new interns.
BS required, A good candidate will have experience in the maintenance and construction of closed recirculating systems including pvc cutting, welding, cementing, as well as fiberglass repair. Maintenance includes monitoring and/or repair of chillers, pumps, uv lights, and water chemistry analysis. Some field collection using seines or beach trawls may be required. Heavy lifting is often a daily task. Must have good animal husbandry skills.

We are seeking to appoint an aquaculture nutritionist of international standing with a demonstrated research capability. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated capacity for innovation, scientific excellence and delivery of valuable outputs to both national and international scientific and industry communities. The research environment includes a highly experienced team of aquaculture technicians and scientists, well equipped nutritional analytical laboratories and environment-controlled seawater laboratories.
Prerequisites:
